Stay in Alghero

Hotel was nice, room was air-conditioned with shutters so easier sleep. Staff were very nice and helpful showing up around the island.

No issues encountered in our visit.

Very poor

Stark/Cold atmosphere and rude staff to go with it

The place is clean and simple. The grounds and building are very basic and are not really inspiring. The internal courtyard resembles a very basic motel and are quite stark with a staircase and door per hotel room.

The biggest issue was the staff. We checked in late at night and told the staff that we were going to have to check out early in the morning to catch a flight at the nearby airport (15 min drive). The receptionist said thanks for letting him know in advance as it was helpful. We woke up 2 hours before when we needed to leave for the airpot and were absolutely shocked when the very same receptionist said "it is not possible to checkout" and refused to help us call a taxi to get to the airport. His reasoning was that we were 2 people instead of 1 (which was what the reservation was) and he needed to charge for the extra person and didn't know how to do it. He did not mention this the previous night, we did not refuse paying more (even though there was no difference i.e. we didn't have the included breakfast). Instead of trying to help us, he just crossed his arms and sat there saying we'd need to wait 45mins until the manager arrived and did not care that this would make us late for our flight. Once again, all while not helping us book a taxi. So we spent the next 45minutes trying to call local taxi services while he finally called vairous staff at the hotel to help him sort out. To make matters worse, the receptionist then just got into his car and drove off! We were left standing by the road hoping the taxi would come. The manager then arrived and saw us waiting by the road and the first thing she mentioned to us is that we should have booked a taxi service the night before as a "friendly tip for next time". The audacity was shocking. We had ample time to figure out a ride and the point was the hotel staff refused to help us. Aside from this we would never stay at the hotel anyway. The beds were extremely uncomfortable, the pillows absolutely flat and the A/C very weak.

Flies, extra charges for pool towels and use of tennis court. No shuttle bus to Alghero. No bar. A bit soulless.

Last Minute Gem Find

Everything! Tranquil rural setting. Lovely comfortable room. Lovely outdoor areas with beautiful pool. Very good restaurant. Due to a problem with our flight we had to stay one extra night in Alghero so made last minute reservation for 1 night only, wish it could have been longer...next time
