    ok city hotel .
    A fairly modern refurbished hotel in the centre of town not far from the sea , clean modern room with a nice big bed we were on the 10th floor so a really good view of the sea and the surroundings .Evening meal was very good but breakfast was was not great
    The building looked like a old concrete block of flats there was a small balcony from the room and it was quite noise as you would expect fro being in the middle of town , steam room and sunna said on the hotel guid that opened at 6.30 but didn't open till 8.00 and at 8.15 still weren't warmed up . overall though the hotel was ok but don't didn't think it was anything special as some review would have you think.

    Good for location, great staff, and food. But avarage rooms
    The hotel is in very good location, about 25 min walk to centre of Funchal. You will find everything nearby, location is definitely its strongest point. Also restaurant serves good quality breakfast. We decided to pay for one dinner, which was also nice. There is a rooftop bar, with awesome view. Our room had hairdryer, iron, safe box, kettle, and variety of teas. Car park is available for 5 a night, no problems with parking. Rooms were cleaned everyday
    Rooms were merely appropriate. Bed had only one side table, that was frustrating. Shower had only rain option, i prefer normal shower, which was there, but there was no way to hang the shower head. There was no wardrobe, only hangers over the desk.

    Perfect paradise.
    All facilities were excellent, room cleaned and tidied everyday, plenty of stuff in the room with amazing view. Really helpful staff at front desk, really welcoming. Facilities and gym all up to scratch, couldnt ask for anymore. Amazing value for money.

    Our stay at Allegro Madeira was awesome!
    Our stay at Allegro Madeira was awesome! The staff was super friendly, the food was delicious, and our ocean-view rooms were really clean. I totally recommend this hotel, and I can't wait to go back for another great time!
    The hotel looks a bit outdated and communist from the outside, but as you get closer, it turns out to be really okay and minimalistic!

    Great value, great location, will stay again.
    The hotel is centrally located in the hotel district close to bus stops and restaurants as well as being a relatively easy walk into the centre. The hotel staff are extremely attentive and available 24/7. The breakfast is great although finishes on the dot of 10am. Great value, friendly staff, very clean, adjacent to a supermarket, good size fridge in room, large double bed, flexible check in, amazing views.
    I am being incredibly picky saying anything really as it's such a great hotel. The only things I can say I guess are, I wish breakfast was a little later (say to 10:30am), the pillows are comfortable but a 'little' lumpy compared to what I am used to, the bar gets very windy out of season (in an evening) - do not wear skirts!! (The lift can sometimes take a while to reach you.) Saying all of these tiny things, I have stayed in the hotel 3 times and also have recommended it to friends.
