    Good location and quiet room
    No food available at all on Christmas eve - not even room service, I had phoned in advance to ask about food and was told bar snacks would be available as normal. Also asked when I checked in. When we turned up to eat were turned away rather rudely, told the kitchen was at capacity and bar too full. Not great on Christmas eve.

    Breakfast and all the team there were very good.
    Location and Christmas tree.
    Very noisy out the front. I asked for a quiet room when we arrived and was told it was on the side so would be ok. The receptionist also said well its the town centre what do you expect. It wasnt on the side or back and it was noisy.

    Friendly staff comfortable rooms and excellent breakfast
    Needed earplugs to sleep because the bed is next to the wall where the next door room has its TV mounted, we could literally listen to the programme word for word. Bad design.

    The ambiance, the service, the food. Old fashioned but good quality. The bed was really comfortable, I could have stayed in it all day!
    There was insufficient insulation from the room above mine, and early in the morning I could hear every step taken by the person moving around above. As the windows are single glazed, it was very chilly by the window. The long curtains, when closed, covered the radiator, so I had to bunch them up on the windowledge to allow the heat from the radiator to circulate. I assume the building is listed, which is why the sound and heat insulation cannot be improved?

    The whole experience was superb.
    Incredibly, there were no downsides! Breakfast was excellent, dinner was excellent, as well as a spacious, comfortable room. And compared with my usual hotels (London and Oxford) the price was entirely reasonable. I recommend it!

    Very pleasant, due to helpful staff and lovely food, but a bit hard work!
    Very welcoming. Wonderful location.
    The wheelchair access was problematic due to the revolving door, which needed folding to get the wheelchair in. There was no flat access inside to the restaurant. We had to exit (through the revolving door) and enter the restaurant from the street. It wasnt well signed.

    Met expectations against cost
    Well designed single room with superb view. Location to central town could not be better.
    Only thing, and its a small issue, I ordered eggs benedict for breakfast which came with 2 eggs and lashings of ham but all based on just half a muffin - what happened to the other half ?
