Very good

Very good. Outstanding staff, lovely rooms, good breakfast. Location is perfect for visiting Genova.

This is a big hotel, with large parties staying. Queues at breakfast. Staff are expert in crowd management, but don't expect seclusion. Rooms a little warm and aircon ineffective.

Overall disaster

One of our rooms was wonderful with two windows and a very comfortable bed and the bar staff could not have been more helpful. Perfect location.

There was no suitable alternative to room service - you could just order from the very heavy, traditional menu from the restaurant located beside the hotel. The reception staff kept on changing and didn't inform each other about billing requests etc. I do not blame them but the general management of the hotel chain. It certainly wasn't a 5-star hotel in terms of support and services, and it certainly wasn't value for money.

A hotel with great history behind. Breakfast is awesome.

The style is outdated. Lots of decorative stuff just taking up space in corridors and rooms. Infrastructure and amenities in rooms and common areas are tired and worn out at times. By day 2 of my stay I was fully immersed in the "Grand Hotel Budapest" movie scene.

Felt like have gone back in time pure decadent this is a beautiful hotel

Everything was a perfect. Staff were excellent friendly and make amazing cocktails. I did tell the hotel it was my husband birthday, on his birthday we came back to a lovely birthday message and a bottle of Prosecco with two glasses on ice in our room we were very touch by this, it lovely. We will be back next year.

Vintage at its best

Grand Hotel Savoia is a vintage 19th century luxury hotel. No more, no less. It is not modern. It is not flawless. It is exactly what it is - a shining remnant of Genova's glorious past. And it feels wonderful. Enjoy!

Grand Hotel Savoia is not for everyone. There are cheaper hotels. There are less dated hotels. For me, however, there is no better option in Genova.

Great overnight stay

Proximity to Railway station very convenient. Historical hotel with lovely rooms downstairs bar, restaurant & foyer etc. Fantastic pizza Genoese style from bar- yum.

Unfriendly reception from one staff member on arrival. No offerings or relevant information on activities within hotel provided. She seemed to be just doing her job.
