On arrival and check-in. We paid the local tax and were given or keys to the room. We went to check the room, and it wasn't the room we booked. I went back down to reception and explained this, only to be told they were fully booked & that's the room we have to take, I insisted we couldn't stay in that room, then we were told, maybe we can change it in the morning. We went back up, and I went to have a shower, the 2 sliding shower doors were hanging off at the bottom & were difficult to close, the paint came off the tiles in the shower, mold at bottom of shower, no ventilation fan or window. Toilet seat was hanging off, absolutely unacceptable. We went out had a pizza came back to go asleep. Absolutely impossible, their was a humming noise like from an electricity box or something that started & stopped every 10 seconds, my wife said it sounded like a washing machine. I went back down to the reception at around 2am, again around 6am. I was told it was a house next to the hotel that does their washing at night, & they can't call in at 2am to ask them to stop, the guy at the reception desk taught it was funny and said speak to the manager at 07:30am. I spoke to the manager & explained the situation. 10:00am we finally got a different room. We had a walking tour booked for 10:00am that morning but cancelled it because we were awake all night. When I made the booking we booked a double room with a window & city view. There description not mine. The 2nd room we moved to was more like the room we booked. Why couldn't they have given us that room in the first place.
