We loved our stay here

The rooms were really nice. Staff were very friendly and great service. We all enjoyed the Breakfast and also had Dinner both nights which was also very good. We couldn't fault anything

Stayed here several times and facilities have always been very good. Rooms clean and comfortable, breakfast excellent with plenty of choice.

We have previously always had a super meal in the restaurant when staying and I had made a reservation for 8pm. Unfortunately, due to heavy traffic, we arrived 8.20pm to be told the kitchen was closed. It would have been helpful if at booking, or when I phoned to check the dinner reservation prior to our stay, it had been mentioned that if we were late the kitchen would be closed at this time as we would have changed plans i.e. eaten on the way. The staff were very apologetic but after a 4 hour journey it did dampen our spirits somewhat!!

Noisy bathroom fan that wouldnt turn off all night which was disappointing but didnt have the heart to complain as everything else had been so good.

Typical old English pub, no frills but perfectly functional.

The front-of-house/breakfast host was very jolly and helpful. Nice homemade cookies greeted us on arrival. The cooked breakfast was fine. The hotel is at least a mile from the seafront but there is a pleasant walk down (The Byes) or you can take the bus. Has one of the biggest pub carparks I've ever seen and was free.

We didn't have any evening meals there as some very recent Booking.com reviews were quite off-putting and we could certainly agree with the comments regarding the disinterested and somewhat sullen bar staff. As in many old pubs/hotels the decor was a bit tired and threadbare, but it didn't detract from our stay.
