Ou room was dreadful, it was in the attic, the bed was only 4 off the floor. The blinds at the windows were very badly fitted and let too much light in even in winter. Whilst the bathroom was modern the shower cubicle was much too small for the shower unit and water went everywhere. The attic room is incredibly uncomfortable and the stairs are dangerous and there is not a hand rail to help getting up and down. Again because it is an attic there are beams everywhere and you cannot walk around without almost bending double. We were warned about the stairs but not until our booking had been confirmed and payment taken which was non refundable so we thought we would try it as we were only there for one night, we were very wrong I should have booked elsewhere and lost my 207 as it totally spoiled our New Years Eve. The staff were mostly friendly. We most definitely would recommend that if you book this hotel make absolutely sure that you do not get the Scarborough room. Not surprisingly there are no photos of the attic on the site. Also one ofthe chairs in the room was dirty, both chairs are worn out but the arm of one of the chairs was filthy which is disgusting. I wish the owner/manager would stay at least one night in the room and then maybe they would either make some improvements like putting a proper bed in there or making sure the room was safe and comfortable for paying guests but clearly getting payment for the room comes first so I do not believe that anything will change even though I do believe that the stairs are a health and safety issue.
