    Cosy pub, cosy stay, great food.
    Lovely Country pub, warm and cosy, room was lovely, well maintained, clean and comfortable, dinner menu was great and the food was delicious. Breakfast menu was also good and again breakfast was lovely. This is a dog friendly pub. On their website they also have several circular walks of various lengths, that take you from the pub and back. We did one of these through the Nature Reserve not far away and had a great time. Nice to come back to a cosy pub after a walk and get all cosy.
    No food, not even bar snacks between, last lunch booking 2.30pm and dinner at 6pm. This is not clear on their website or their menu's. We would have eaten a small lunch before our walk if we had realised.

    Great rural get away with cosy little lodge-style rooms behind the pub.
    Dinner was excellent. Bar superb. Arranged an early continental breakfast for me as I was running The South Downs Trail Run. Wife had the better deal with a lovely cooked breakfast. But that's my fault!

    Amazing Inn and Pub set in a stunning location
    Large, spacious rooms that were spotlessly clean and full of nice features set in a peaceful and stunning location. The rooms are round the back from the main pub just a short walk away. Breakfast is served in the main pub, it is cooked to order with lots to choose from, fully recommended.

    Style over substance
    The bed was very comfortable.
    The bathroom was completely impractical, the copper roll top bath looked great but it was almost impossible to use the shower handset to wash my hair without help from my husband. The room itself was quite plain, we have stayed here before and had a much nicer room for similar price. The restaurant did not meet our expectations at all. I am gluten intolerant and when I asked for a gluten free menu I was directed to scan a QR code that would tell me the gluten free options. These amounted to a bowl of olives, two steak dishes and a venison dish. I found this extremely disappointing and would have expected far more from somewhere that classes itself as a gastropub. Needless to say we ate elsewhere both evenings and had delicious meals, with plenty of gluten free options.

    Just a brilliant place to stay.
    This is what I would call a typical Inn, the way every Inn should be like. Cosy, good rooms, very nice dinner, staff brilliant (Cat & Tiva in particular). Highly recommended. Will definitely be back soon.

    Excellent stay. Been here before, and will return - not cheap, but you get what you pay for!
    Good friendly check in, nice room, well equipped bathroom.
    Stayed on a cold winter night, and the room (Stag) was borderline chilly enough, with the radiator turned up to maximum. There was however a plug in electric heater in the room, had I needed it, but I'd suggest thicker duvets for the colder months. Free wifi very poor, it kept dropping out every few minutes, and needed reconnecting manually each time.
