The room was great, really liked the rustic decor. Loved how quiet the area was and the bed was extremely comfortable so a great night's sleep!

Lovely old pub in middle of lovely village with lots of rolling hills surrounding. I took.my parents for Christmas. As no one else was staying we got the family rooms which were huge and very nice themed rooms. Bed was also huge and comfy. Food was excellent and plenty of choices for breakfast. Dog was welcome in all of the pub and loved his dog welcome pack. All staff were friendly and my parents had a lovely time.

Very good
Lovely place, well set out rooms with comfy bed and great value. Breakfast was 50/50 sadly
Easy to find, the staff were lovely and room albeit a tad cosy was well presented with everything you'd need. The bed was the most comfortable hotel bed I have slept in all year.
Parking isn't well sign posted. I arrived late evening in the pouring rain and I couldn't make out the sign for parking, so parked on the street. Not the end of the world, and it turns out parking is behind the rooms. The room, was cosy with no where to work from, so I had to set up on the bed. Again not the end of the world, but something to be mindful of if traveling for work and staying more than one evening. The breakfast was sadly a letdown; I chose eggs benedict, and the eggs, although cooked perfectly, were cooked in vinegared water and not drained properly, so there was an overpowering taste of vinegar. The muffins had also only been toasted briefly, so they weren't cooked all through. All very minor things that didn't detract from a very pleasant stay.

Welcoming,comfortable and quirky
The quirky nature of the room that comes from old coaching houses - it was great - but also had wonderful modern facilities (bathrooms/tea&coffee making facilities.
I like it all

Pleasant
Cheerful staff and good food . Shame about the heating.
Breakfast and dinner were excellent. There was no heating or hot water on arrival...We were walking the South Downs Way. Hot showers are essential. They did provide plug heaters and hot water restored in the morning. But not ideal.
Heating!

Passable
Potential for a gorgeous overnight stay, but marred by temporary hot water issue.
Well appointed room. Friendly staff who did their best to help a situation they was out of their control.
Due to a technical issue the central heating wasnt working and there was no hot water for us in the morning. Partial refund given to compensate. Staff provided an electric heater but the room felt cold when we entered (pos put electric heaters on low prior to guests arriving to take the chill off the room?).

Friendly, cosy and comfortable - excellent.
The room was delightful. The furnishings were in keeping with the room and the room was really cosy (as in warm) and wrapped itself around you. Really clean and comfortable.

Very good
Very welcoming, warm & cosy. Worth the miles, would definitely stay again. Thank you White Hart
Very warm & cosy. Stayed here for my birthday on Halloween so it was a perfect setting. Old pub with falling leaves. Very beautiful!
The menu. For people that come from a basic lifestyle, we felt as though we couldnt eat anything as we didnt want to order something wed never heard of and then not like it as it was a lot of money for us. This was a birthday weekend away for myself. Id never done anything like this before. So I was unsure of what more than half the menu was. So I just had soup and my partner had haddock & chips, we had a pint each and a bowl of garlic mushrooms which were lovely. And although the food was very nice it came to 50 something. We stayed for 2 nights and because of the time we sat down for food as we had to travel over 3 hours and came straight after work, it was getting quite late, so we just ate at the hotel. We were grinding our teeth at the price a little and we sat down and wondered how we were going to afford food for the next couple days. But it is what it is, I understand the food would be locally produced and would therefore cost more than a standard pub. Id still come back but would have to save a bit more money to eat and drink there. Other than that, staff were really lovely, very friendly and kind and because I felt so welcome, Id definitely come back. Ill just have to expand my taste buds in the meantime.
