This Aloft Strasbourg Etoile hotel offers a superb location, with easy access to the mall, city center, supermarket, and restaurants. The customer service is friendly, and the rooms are modern and cl (Read More)ean. The only minor inconvenience is that the bathroom lights also light up the hall area, possibly disturbing other guests at night. However, this does not overshadow the overall positive experience. The staff is nice, and the buffet breakfast is good. The bar area on the ground floor adds to the lively atmosphere. Overall, it is a recommended hotel for a couple of days in Strasbourg, with amazing views of the cathedral.

Smart hotel in Strasbourg but with some flaws that unfortunately let down the overall experience

The room was a good size, clean and very modern in decor. We particularly liked the little seating and table area. The staff were friendly and accommodating in finding us some cutlery when we decided to have take-out in our room one evening. There is a bar and couple of restaurants right near to the hotel. It is a 15-20 minute walk to the centre of Strasbourg and a 30-35 minute walk to the train station. However, there is a tram stop just a couple of minutes' walk from the hotel and the tram can take you more quickly into town and it only takes 10 minutes on the tram to the train station.

It was either the first or second night we were there (a Saturday or Sunday) when the music from the bar was very loud. I usually can sleep through quite a bit of noise but even for me it was a bit too loud. It went on until late and we were on the fourth floor so I can't imagine what it must have been like for those on lower floors. If you want a quiet night's sleep then I suggest you ask for a room on the other side of the hotel away from the bar. The room had a Nespresso machine but we only ever got 3 complimentary pods for the whole of our four night stay - they were not replenished. When we asked for more, we were told we would need to buy a pack. For the price paid per night, I thought this was quite mean and not what I would expect of a four star hotel. We were not provided with any alternative instant coffee which is what you would get even in a bed and breakfast. We subsequently stayed at a four star hotel in another European city and our Nespresso pods were replenished each day. I would suggest the hotel should at least provide complimentary instant coffee sachets if they are not going to replenish the Nespresso pods.

Excellent modern hotel within walking distance of the historical center. Comfortable room, good beds, silence and comfort. The windows do not open, but the climate system works well - there is no feeling of stuffiness or mustiness. Moderately warm and comfortable. The hotel does not have its own parking, but with a coupon from the reception at P2-Cinema (10 minutes with luggage) they give a discount so that it turns out to be 16.50 euros per day.

Unreasonably expensive breakfasts.

It's a 10 but the deposit policy moves it down to 9

Super clean and extremely comfortable. The location was 10 minutes walk from the center of the city and even tho it was on a central street it was pretty quiet.

We were caught by surprise when upon our arrival the receptionist required us to pay a deposit of 50 per night that got reversed after our departure. This policy is apparently part of the Aloft hotels policy but it wasn't mentioned anywhere in the booking page which is not the nicest thing.

The location and friendly staff

No slippers, only one free small water bottle for the whole stay and no refill of coffee capsule or tea sachet on day 2 and 3. Minor amenities. Bed very noisy
