    Very nice .
    Comfortable , warm, clean , great water pressure and temperature. ideal location , cleaning staff very helpful.
    Bar was pretty abysmal. Lounge areas were luxurious but empty, presumably as the bar was so limited( no cocktails, very limited choice of wines and beer) and no music( even a background tinkle). Considering the competition in town you really need to up your game in this department.

    incredible hotel. A must visit
    We were upgraded to the loft suites ... with private steam room, sauna + jacuzzi bath in the bathroom. Beautiful pool, gym + treatment spa .... comfortable sofa by the fire for enjoying a drink from the well stocked bar. This was a joy to stay in. We will definitely be back ... we wish we could have stayed here longer. Breakfast was cooked to order + was amazing.

    Comfortable, central hotel with a full range of amenities
    Central location in Ambleside. Great spa with external hot tub & decent pool facilities. The food is good & bar is okay. Staff are universally pleasant & helpful. Ample parking
    This is a big Victorian building (I think) which whilst not a criticism, obviously doesn't have the ambience of a small boutique hotel. Nothing else!

    Would definitely return for a relaxing fresh air break
    Great place to stay, welcoming and comfortable. Scenic views, certainly from the lovely and spacious top floor room we had. Walks for all abilities from the front door and Lake Windermere just down the hill through the beautiful town.
