This is an old broken down hotel. All the furniture is old, creaky and mostly broken. Nothing really worked. The phone in our room was broken so for every issue or request we had to walk down and up three flights of stairs. It was mainly to ask them to reset the router because the Internet barely ever worked. WiFi is key for many things but especially because data quality and reception is dodgy generally.
There were some friendly staff but most were cold and unfriendly. The breakfast staff was quite friendly with each other though. They spent all the time socializing and if you needed something it was like you were interrupting or imposing. There was one skinny female housekeeping staffer who was always friendly and actually smiled. Something tells me most of the staff hates their jobs.
The breakfast itself was less than mediocre and extremely limited. Mashed dry croissants? The only good part of the breakfast was the fruit. Otherwise super basic, limited selection and not good.
Another annoying issue was having to ring the doorbell and wait for someone to open the door to the main entrance. And this was at all hours of the day and night.
This is because they dont really have a 24 hour front desk as advertised and thats apparently why the front door is always locked. The front desk is often unstaffed as the person has various other duties.
So many issues in the room, from lack of curtains that block out light, to poor lighting, to doors that had to be slammed to close properly, faucet fixtures that were difficult to use because half of it was under the mirror, closet doors that didnt close, a balcony door that would close and lock you outside and then there is the balcony that Im not sure how they made it look usable in the photos. Youre lucky if one person can stand outside. The towels were mostly glorified rags. And the room cleaning was below average. We gave up on walking barefoot in our room because the floor was always grimy.
