Grand Hotel Gosforth Park

The staff went above and beyond. They understood the worries. They kept me and my family safe. I've never felt so appreciative in all my life for the staff these past few days. I had a panic attack and upset not long after arriving. The kids were ever so upset. I could not fault the staff at all in the slightest. When this happened the 2 women (dont know there names) took us aside to another room. Calmed us down etc moved us rooms to a different floor. Bigger and better and we are ever so grateful. Day 2 Dan on reception made sure that we were settled. Helped get heating on etc and totally went out his way for us. I couldn't fault the staff at all. We love coming to this hotel and we will always return because of the staff. We've experienced a bad time but they out did themselves and i will be forever grateful.

Room.. it was cold the windows where full of condensation which I wiped numerous times and also wiped mould from around windows ! I tried to turn on heating but although it did come on it was like warm reported to reception but nothing was done until 2nd night when they got a heater and an extra quilt. Food ! Breakfast was cold ! Obv they had cooked far to much which was standing under heat lamps and when we had breakfast at 7:45 the food had clearly been sat since restaurant had opened at 6am Ordered food in evening from bar the choice wasnt great and what we wanted was unavailable so when I ordered I chose soup but not as a starter I asked for it to come at same time as my husbands meal, it didnt, we asked 4 times where it was to be told it be 1 more minute ..when it did eventually come only half of his meal came out so again we asked about the rest of the meal the waitress said she would find out .again we where waiting for his fries. We were offered a drink seeing as I only drink orange cordial this was a bit of an insult.after asking to speak to manager I asked for a refund he agreed and apologised but then continued to inform me that I would have to wait 5 days for my refund ! I paid cash ! We use this hotel a few times each year but on this occasion was very very disappointed and will consider very carefully if we think about returning
