Very good

Lovely, quiet hotel with great staff

This small hotel is excellently located right on the beach in a quiet town. The room was spacious and comfortable, with good facilities. For breakfast and lunch you're seated under a beautiful tree overlooking the sea, which was very relaxing. The on-site restaurant has tasty food, and there's also a great Indian restaurant and supermarket within walking distance. The best thing about the hotel is definitely the staff who are all very friendly and helpful.

We wanted to get a taxi 20 minutes down the road to join a boat trip, but the taxi firm that the hotel use insisted they'd have to wait for us for the entire 5 hour trip rather than just drop us off and pick us back up, which would have cost more than the boat trip for 2 people. Apparently this is common practice in Mauritius, so perhaps I would have hired a rental car if I'd known in advance!

The outside of the hotel is really nice, especially the restaurant which is almost on the beach. It's really beautiful to have your breakfast or dinner there. We enjoyed the dinner, even if it was not a buffet, it was a three course dinner and we had 2 options to choose from.

It is a bit expensive from what it has to offer. We felt like we paid just for the fact that it is located on the beach. Regarding the breakfast, the coffee included was very bad, it was like water with a hint of coffee. Also the food was very limited. Being on halfboard we would've appreciated at least a glass of water over dinner. If you wanted to drink something you had to buy it from the restaurant. The private beach was not like in the photos....it's a bit small, but also dirty. The water it's a bit rougher in that area and brings all kinds of algae.

Very nice and cosy hotel to stay. Good value for money.

Nice and cosy human-sized hotel (as opposed to the very large hotel resorts where hundreds of people stay at the same time). Most of the staff was very friendly. Live guitarist some of the evenings.

The food included in the half board menu for the evening was meant to be European-style and logically was not good. When I travel to a country it is to discover its specificities not to eat an average version of the food I have at home. Same comment goes to the music repertoire played by the live guitarist: versions of 80's French songs...how about some sega next time?

A really good value hotel in an area that has lots to do. We went kayaking with dolphins. Amazing!

A beautiful hotel garden and wonderful rooms, ours was a sunset room right on the beach. Stunning sunsets and the surrounding garden was lush and well kept. The staff were attentive and helpful. At the restaurant we had the chicken curry and the pizzas which were delicious. Breakfast was plentiful and good quality.

Alcoholic drinks were a bit expensive but everything else was great.

A mistake

The sea view. The rooms do overlook the restaurant but the view is wonderful.

Staff attitude (with a couple of exceptions) was indifferent to aggressive. The food is atrocious. Someone mentioned good coffee. Its like brown water. Espresso is available but not at breakfast. Dinner was a complete failure. Dorado. Came cooked to a crisp. Sent back. Next piece was raw in the middle. Crab dish. Cooked from frozen. Some parts overcooked, some raw, with a curry stirred through. Horrible. Replacement dish (club sandwich) was awful. Overpriced, very average wine. Head waiter was obsequious and insincere. Worst food ever in Mauritius.
