    Helped to make a perfect Christmas.
    Old world charm - beautiful house. Loved the real fire in the bar area. Fantastic views. So pretty at Christmas. Lovely touches like Bucks Fizz at breakfast on Christmas morning and chocolates in our room.

    Lovely hotel within easy reach of Cardiff and Barry
    Location is excellent. Very quiet with lovely views. Stayed previously and there was a wedding party so not as quiet so ensured I stayed outside of weekend this time. Restaurant food was good for both evening and breakfast meals.
    Was put in a dog friendly room which wasnt immediately apparent (though in retrospect the dog pictures on the walls and dog shaped lamps should have given game away!!). There was a tiny card on dressing table advising to contact reception if unhappy with room allocation. As wed already unpacked and were only staying 2 nights we didnt bother complaining. I think this information should be given on check in to give opportunity to request a different room. The room was clean but had hard floors, not carpet and was very dark. Lighting could be improved I feel. Only complaint with regard to restaurant was the price of wine per glass for what was a very basic house rose.

    Bedrooms were spacious and modern. The views of Cardiff Bay are quite spectacular on a clear day. Breakfast was cooked to order and very good.

    The cooked breakfast was good although the hot drinks were not hot.
    The original room we were allocated had a unpleasant smell but the hotel moved us to another room which was a lot better.
