We simply had a lovely stay at the hotel.
The Staff were excellent, the food was very good & the overall feel that we got from our stay will make it an easy choice for us to use again & again.
Rooms were a little bit old but it kind of fit with the overall style of the hotel.

We had dinner in the hotel on the first evening, Im affraid that there wasnt a lot of choice on the menu, I choose the turkey dinner, which wasnt very hot. The meal was not value for money. and disapponting. It is a shame as the rest of the stay I couldnt fault x

Room too small bathroom too small and the rooms were just too warm i did ask for them turn it down bit didn't...in December it felt like July in those rooms...it was too noisy on an evening in bed at 11pm disco was blaring out... not enough space in the bedroom wardrobe too small...the bar area??....on a Saturday night maybe 40 people in the bar area and one person serving...took me 30 minutes just to get a pint....this hotel didn't live up to its expectations overrated and overpriced sorry to say.....

A wonderful hotel with great staff and decoration befitting a fine mansion house hotel. Breakfast was plentiful and quality superb. Dinner was equally enjoyable. Afternoon tea looked superb, however, I opted for a turkey, cranberry and stuffing sandwich one day, which was absolutely fantastic, both in size and taste. My room was of a reasonable size, meticulously clean, had good amenities. There was a very comfortable bed and additional heating to help overcome an extremely cold spell at the time. Room locations vary within the hotel. Some more pleasurable than others.
The room was situated close to the bar, restaurant and function rooms, which meant lots of people passing outside and happily chatting, as well as disco music coming from the function rooms in the evening, especially at Christmas time. Because of this, the room would benefit immensely from soundproofing, or at least having a well fitted solid door, to reduce the noise. For those unable to deal with noise, I would recommend taking rooms situated towards the far end of the hotel, nearer the gardens and further away from the public areas. I have stayed in these before and had absolutely no problem at all. The other issue with this specific room is that the bathroom has a large frosted window that looks straight into the centre of the hotel car park. There is no curtain and it can be quite uncomfortable using the shower, especially during the hours of darkness, when people can see inside, albeit a frosted image of someone, but still see 'enough'. A curtain or blind is needed. Apart from these 2 things, I had a lovely stay.
