    The only good thing about our stay was the breakfast, rooms are torn down, service is very poor, staff seems disinterested and unfriendly, average dinner, 5 star charges for a 3 star service

    Beautiful property but really needs upgrades .
    Beautiful property with a traditional colonial feel.
    Facilities could be a lot better including the wi-if which simply wasnt working . The cleanliness should be improved . There were coconut shells lying outside our room for 3 days after we had drunk the coconut water. Plus there should be no charge for hiring bikes. This should be a part of the facilities as is in many hotels . The cycles were lying idle instead let the guests use it for free. The air conditioner kept going on and off and the fan was only working at 1 speed. Such things are not expected at Taj.

    Overall it was great, all staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was also very good. Location excellent and also kids enjoyed. Lot of activities for them
    The bunk bed looks old needs to be upgraded.

    Excellent experience in kumarakom
    The property itself is super beautiful. Just feels lovely to walk through the property across the various tiny bridges and gardens with many perfect spots to click a lot of pictures. The food was excellent and the chef was very attentive to any of the special needs we had. The property itself has a lot of activities. We enjoyed the pool and the spa services which I would highly recommend. The staff was extremely friendly and courteous, special mention of Vishal, Neetu and Gayathri at the reception who always assisted us with a smile. Would recommend a stay of atleast 2-3 nights and pace the activities over the various days.

    I wouldnt necessarily say we disliked this experience but if I had to mention something, would say the shikara ride on the backwaters was a bit of a letdown. This might also be because we left by 5 pm and it started to pour by the end of the ride but personally I felt the backwaters there werent the cleanest. The hotel was prompt in arranging a car to get us back safely.

    the stay was very pleasant, but i got a sense of "not value for money"
    the breakfast was good, and the service quite good. the Manager Mr Noel was quite warm and friendly and very helpful, and he arranged for a lovely boat cruise, the meal during the boat cruise was also rather excellent.
    1. the reception isvirtually an open place where there is no airconditioning, and a traveller who is a little tired and hot under the collar would be inconvenienced. Further if it were raining.... 2. the property is far away from the kake rather than on its very bank, and other small pools distract from the majestic view of the grand backwater! 3. in a rainy season (practically round the year), there is no umbrella in the room, and if there is a short sharp rain, then the guest has to call reception to get an umbrella 4. the restaurant area is somewhat cramped especially when everyone turns up around the same time for breakfast. 5. the 4 hour boat cruise is a bit overpriced at 29000 6. the lighting is very dim and the paths are not seen when we go to the cottages. Some motion sensor lamps may provide the answer

    Warm welcome , great tea time snacks
    Bit out of the way - but this isnt the propertys fault. Does feel very expensive - in terms of meals etc but great variety. No alcoholic spirits was also surprising

    If you like the rustic away from everyone space this is beautiful. The pakoras and tea at 5pm was yum. Staff were friendly and kind
