No parking near cottage, We had to park right at the top of the hill round the bend, which wasn't great. We asked the butcher if we could park in their big car park but unfortunately this was for customers only. We could see why as it was busy butchers. He was kind enough to let us park to unload the car because otherwise, it would have been a nightmare. On the 2nd day, we managed to get a spot near the pub, which was better. We booked and paid for early check-in at 2 pm, but when we arrived, the cleaner had still a lot to do, so we was unable to use the cottage so left and came back half an hour later 2.30 but unfortunately, she still had not finished. So we decided to make our way into whitby for lunch, having not able to use the cottage. The lady was extremely sorry the cottage was not ready for our arrival.
The road traffic noise you could hear till late then started early hours , customers at the butchers ie work men, each morning first thing leaning up side of the cottage walls and directly piering in while eating there hot butties and chatting, I had to keep the blinds closed for privacy. The blinds in the bay window have gaps on either side so people can see in.
