Superficially looks very nice but room was small for the cost (I paid over 115 per night) and run down and tired (flaking paint work, old wall heaters, stained walls, holes in bedding, fixings left in bathroom wall where a shelf has been removed etc.)
It included a buffet-style continental breakfast but no cooked breakfast option. No room service that I was aware of.
I was placed in a room with an adjoining room with door and could hear EVERYTHING from the next room. At one point I was awoken due to a rustling sound which I thought was in my room.
Parking is an absolute nightmare. On the first day I had to park in a multi-storey and trudge all luggage through town to the hotel. Parking cost an additional 15 on top of the nightly hotel costs so be aware of this. I was on a 3 week long road trip over Christmas and had to leave valued items and presents in the car which was stressful.
There could be much better communication about these things beforehand to help support planning and avoid stress on arrival, instead of the short mention of limited parking in a message. I specifically look for hotels with parking and was only notified after booking that the spaces were very limited and could not be booked out in advance. This completely ruined my first day and I spent a long time researching safe, nearby parking rather than relaxing.
I paid the price for a room for 2 which included a cocktails and dinner on the first night. As I was solo travelling, I only received vouchers for myself even though the deal was for two. I assumed that I would still receive vouchers for 2 so that I could take a friend to dinner (since paid for) or at least a drink but sadly no. I ended up having dinner on my own and meeting my friend later.
This was supposed to be a treat for myself on an otherwise budget trip and I was left disappointed. I wish Id have booked a cheaper room elsewhere and taken us to a nice restaurant in town instead. Thank goodness the locals in Inverness are lovely.
