Thoroughly recommended as a good value stopover.

Quiet, good own access to the South Downs . Small issue with heating in our room was resolved very quickly by very friendly host which is exactly what you want when there is any sort of issue which can of course always happen. Lovely warm bar area and good pub food.

Breakfast a little underwhelming but as expected given the price of rooms.

The pub is a small roadside hotel, which is managed really well almost single-handedly.

The location was perfect for our visit to the Gilbert White Museum in Selborne, but the address is not sufficient information to find it. Definitely use SATNAV! The room was comfortable and clean and plenty of hot water supplied by biomass boiler. Breakfast was mostly 'help yourself' from a varied breakfast bar.

The food is OK but not special. We did not have sufficient time to eat our dinner in time to get to Selborne.

Very comfortable night, with good food and atmosphere.

Was close enough to Gatwick to make it an easy drive to catch a flight the following morning. Very comfortable, beautiful English Inn. We were made feel very welcome.

A great and gregarious host

It was great to have a kitchen area, as we were able to cook some dinner to save money over takeout! Also the host was amazingly helpful, gathering as many pillows and cushion as needed for my son to have his newly operated on broken foot raised above his heart.
