    Central location with car parking, good size room.
    Breakfast not good value for money, no cereal or fruit prior to cooked option which tends to be standard when you pay for breakfast, room looking little tired, wallpaper peeling by window and mould on tiles in shower, bathroom floor not very clean, duvet on bed very thin and no extra blanket in room.

    Good sleep, clean & a great pub with lovely owners
    Location good for us, We had dinner & breakfast, both very nice. Parking available right next to the pub ..You expect there may be some noise when staying in pubs, but we heard nothing & slept well all night
    We have no complaints.

    Fantastic location. Most of the staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent. Bedrooms warm and bed comfortable.
    The shower tray was stained and worn. Cleanliness could have been better. Needed more attention to detail. The rooms were a bit dated and worn. Was told very abruptly that check-in was not until 3 pm. Felt unwelcome, and barman was unfriendly. No choice of cereals at all for breakfast.

    The staff was so polite and the breakfast was so big a proppa full English. 2 day's definitely not long enough to get a true feeling of what Ambleside has to offer. TOP DOLLAR and I'LL BE BACK

    A1 location!!! if you like a central spot with everything in walking distance then can't get much better. Free parking too which seems to be a rarity in Ambleside, a lot of places ask you to pay circa 10 a night. The pub downstairs is really nice and has a decent selection of beers and is probably one of the cheaper ones. I've stayed here twice and both times the room has been surprisingly big, the bed nice and comfy, with a decent bathroom and warm.big tv, ironing board, tea and coffee, WiFiall included. Haven't had a lunch or evening meal there as yet but the breakfast was excellent, all local produce and cooked fresh as you like it. Surprisingly cheap to stay too for what you get, place is run by a couple from Sheffield now after changing hands recently, really nice friendly people and interested in what you think/ your feedback so I expect they will make it even better as they go on

    Only problem we had was the radiator valve in the room was broken so couldn't turn it down, hence was really warm in the room. 1st world problems though!

    The place has a nice cosy old English feel to which I liked. Rooms are nice and beds are comfy. Breakfast was good. Enjoyed the dinner there, which totally feels like a classic English pub.
    Having to lug our luggages through the restaurant, in order to go to our rooms, which was rather crowded at that time.
