Saved by the bush, Woman from Nashik was all set to join the killfie list while taking a selfie in Gujarat. When it comes to such casualties, India is at the apex of death lists due to such tactics.
The incident took place at the Satpura Hill station of Gujarat's Dang district. When Sushma Pagare was having the time of her life at the Sunrise point and decided to capture the moment with a selfie, she slipped and fell off the cliff. Her perfect selfie moment turned into a disaster. She could've died had a clump of bushes accumulated underneath not saved her. She did not die but was severely injured post this mishap. Selfies are definitely a death threat at times!
A police official told the PTI "She lost her balance while clicking a selfie apparently due to strong winds," They added that Pagare was rescued by the locals and police force and then taken to Saputara primary health center before she was shifted to a private hospital in Nashik.
Selfies are a prime reason these days when it comes to accidental deaths. A widely known incident where another woman got washed away by the floods while capturing Madhya Pradesh's food canal.
More than selfies, keeping up-to social media activity and posting exciting pictures about their happening life is the actual culprit of such incidents. People don't realize that safety needs to be put over their social life.
India plans on tagging some locations as 'no-selfie zones' in order to save people from such fiascos. An app called Saftie educates people on how they should give safety some priority over a selfie!
Selfie is not to be taken at such an extensive cost. There's no point in capturing moments by giving up on your life altogether!
