Yes, you read it right! Uttarakhand government has laid down a proposal to promote sites that are known for being haunted. Under this ghost tourism project, 15 sites including a haunted hotel are set to attract tourists.
One of the 15 sites, the Lambi Dehar or Lambidhar mines near Mussoorie, were a home to more than 50,000 workers in British-era. These mines had to shut down due to hazardous conditions causing increased number of deaths. The mines have half a lakh miners buried and are supposedly haunted.
The hotel in question was built in 1902 and is haunted by the spirit of Lady Frances Garnet Orme, a British lady who was murdered in 1911.
