Ban Lifted, Goa Is Open for Tourism Starting Sep 1, 2024

Let's admit that we have all been dreaming of going to the pristine beach state Goa to beat the summer blues. But COVID-19 had stopped us from travelling till now. Although the truth is that most Goa plans don't come through, almost ever. But the coronavirus had also taken away our satisfaction of even planning a trip. Leaving us all itching for a beach trip ever since the pandemic came. But now, finally the good news has been declared- The ban on Goa tourism has been lifted and it is open from travellers starting today i.e. September 1st, 2020. That means now you can not use travel ban as an excuse to not fly off to Goa immediately.

Goa CM Pramod Sawant announced on Monday 31st of August 2020 that the travel ban would be lifted off of Goa and tourism can resume with effect from the 1st of Sepetember, 2020 as part of Unlock 4.

As part of the Unlock 4, bars will be allowed to open but social distancing is still to be followed even inside, in addition to the other home ministry guidelines and precaution proptocols.

However, beach side shacks are still expected to stay closed most likely until October which is also the standard tourist season in Goa.
