The road connecting Rangpuri to NH-8 will be shut as a part of an expansion plan. The Phase 3A expansion plan includes carrying out the renovation process of the ECT (Eastern Cross Taxiway). Hence, it’s advised that Delhites should reach the airport 3 to 4 hours before the scheduled departure and 15-30 minutes earlier for making it to the airport on time.
Advisory As Released By Delhi Airport!
Delhi Airport issued an advisory, warning all the travellers to leave their houses a little more in advance to ensure a smoother and stress-free journey. A statement released in the press by DIAL (Delhi International Airport Limited) states that “The road that connects Delhi Airport and Rangpuri on National Highway 8 will be closed for over a year to continue with the construction work of ECT (Easter Cross Taxiway), that’s part of the Phase 3A expansion plan. How Will It Impact the Traffic?
This road change is going to bring about a lot of disturbance as the traffic on Rangpuri’s roundabout is going to be diverted to Central Spine Road. This step will connect both Airport Terminals 2 and 3 from Mahipalpur’s direction. The Radisson Bypass Road has been commissioned by DIAL to link Rangpuri with the airport via Central Spine Road. This will provide some amount of convenience to the passengers coming from Gurgaon, Dwarka and Shiva Murti towards Terminals 2 and 3. There are signboards put up at all important spots and locations to inform drivers about the diversion.DIAL, however, states that “The diversion is unlikely to have much of a significant impact on the shuttling time of travellers flying out of the country. However, it is still advised that passengers take precautions and leave a couple of minutes earlier than usual to avoid last-minute panic situations.
Hence, avoid leaving your packing for the last minute and prepare well in advance to leave for Delhi Airport. Happy Travels!
