When you think of fairytales and wonderlands, what comes to your mind? For movie lovers, it's usually the scenes of breathtaking castles, colourful villages, mighty mountains, and gorgeous outlasndish scenery. Sometimes even the magical chariot of Cinderella, lantern scene from tangled, Disney castles, the romantic tale of beauty and the beast, white magic of Narnia, magical world of Harry Potter and so much more. For travellers, it's usually the places like Santorini, Cappadocia, Scotland, Rakotzbrucke, Zhangjiajie, and Bavararia kind of places. And you know what my fairytale and neverland dreams have been through all these destinations and fantasies. Still, the frozen waterfalls of chadar, ice blanket of Zanskar river, freezing temperatures of Leh, icicles on the rocks, and these blue pools by the gorges surpassed all my wonderland imaginations. This experience was nothing like anything I have ever witnessed or imagined. The moments I spent in this unfamiliar land are truly indescribable. #lifeoutsidecubicle . [email protected] - as usual thank you for honouring my photo requests at unusual places... I owe you a treat for these iconic once in a lifetime memories

It’s been a long time since I bought something I wanted but didn’t desperately need. Been dreaming of owning a hoodie (yes, when you’re a digital nomad living out of 2 bags, such dreams are legit ), and when I stumbled upon @hoomanwear - India’s first and only eco-friendly, plant-based, cause-based brand - I was sold I’ve kind of been living in this hoodie since I bought it - on chilly nights, long journeys, even while hiking in the mountains. . . Printing inks typically contain bone char or glycerin from animal fat. But Hoomanwear uses Eco Passport certified inks (a global standard) with no harmful chemicals or animal ingredients. On-demand manufacturing ensures no waste of stock. Shipped in 100% reusable and biodegradable packaging - recycled pizza boxes, reusable cloth bags or bioplastic vegetable starch bags made in Coimbatore that dissolve in warm water! The best part: Every collection is linked to a cause. 15% profits of every purchase from the “Rise of the Vegans” collection goes to @peepalfarm in Dharamshala - doing some amazing animal rescue work. . . The future hopefully looks even more promising. Hoomanwear hoodies use no wool - the wool industry is cruel and often leaves sheep battered and bloodied - but they’re also trying to move away from water-intensive cotton to hemp and bamboo blends. Research is underway for reprintable t-shirts and hoodies, so durable plant-based clothes can simply be reprinted with new designs instead of buying new ones. Wouldn’t that be cool? . . According to a 2018 UN report, “the fashion industry, including the production of all clothes which people wear, contributes to around 10% of global greenhouse gas emissions due to its long supply chains and energy intensive production.” What can we do? Embrace slow fashion, buy less, buy from small brands where it’s possible to verify the process, pay a bit more to buy something eco-friendly and durable, and say no to animal cruelty in the form of wool, leather, silk etc. . . And you, ever considered what your clothes are made of and their environmental impact? . . #theshootingstar #sustainability #slowfashion #vegantravel #shotoniphone
