Bonython Park, the largest of Adelaide's designated city parks, is an excellent spot for family picnics and communal events. Named after the late politician and journalist Sir John Langdon Bonython, each year, the park hosts various events and festivals, including the Skyshow fireworks display, Big Day Out and Stereosonic. Many travelling circuses, most notably, Cirque du Soleil, also perform in Bonython Park. Visitors will find two playgrounds, a boating lake used by model and sailing boat enthusiasts, a visitor kiosk, and barbecue spaces all located near the southern end of the park.
