With a rich history, the Horn of Amalthea is one of the famous attractions of Crete. As per the legendary mythology, Amalthea the goat was the nurse of Zeus, and one day he accidentally broke off her horn. To make up for it, Zeus made sure it was always full of whatever the owner desired, and thus the Horn of Amalthea or the Cornucopia was born - which is a sign of eternal abundance.
The sculpture is a scenic presence with great photo opportunities with a fantastic beach view.
