Auroville in Winter (November - March)

November to December is quite wet, in fact, the most humid time of the year for Auroville. Humidity stays well above 70% more or less. You will find the temperature ranging from 22°C to 30°C, which to the residents of Auroville is a refreshing change from the summer. With the rain starting to go down in January, it gets even better. There is an average temperature of 25°C, which is just perfect for a vacation. The beaches are comparatively colder, but there is a phenomenal bonfire at Matrimandir which compensates for that. No wonder people flock to Auroville during this time of the year, not only from Tamil Nadu but from faraway states as well.

Auroville in Monsoon (July - October)

There is a little bit of rain in August and September, but not as much as the following months. The small amount of rain helps calm down the scorching heat of summer a little bit and makes the beach of the Botanical Garden of tropical evergreen forests even more beautiful. Temperature stays around 18°-36°C, which is a very reasonable one for outdoor sightseeing, shopping or other activities. Although Auroville shows no typical sign of the monsoon season, the drop in the mercury from the high branches of summer is rewarding enough.

Auroville in Summer (April - June)

Summers in Auroville starts mild in around April, but you will not have to wait till May to get the first hint of the heat that awaits you for the rest of the season. Beginning from 22°-25°C, the mercury climbs up to the 40s very quickly. Do not expect a temperature lesser than 35°C while the sun is up on any day of the summer once May starts. The sweltering heat is not a favourite obviously, and the humidity of over 60% does not help you much with the situation either. But evenings can be beautiful here, with pretty sunsets and chilled sundowners at the lovely Auroville Beach, which makes a short trip worth it despite the heat.
