The Auschwitz Jewish Center is located in Oświęcim, Poland, near the Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial and Museum. It includes a restored synagogue, an exhibition on the Jewish community of Oświęcim before the Holocaust, and educational programs about Jewish culture and history. As the only surviving Jewish presence in the town, the center offers a poignant insight into the area's pre-war Jewish life and its tragic destruction.
This is the only surviving Jewish Museum which gives a clear glimpse of life of people before the second world war. Jews used to be a majority around 150 years ago and this museum has been extensively built to pray for as well as remember them.
