Campuhan Ridge Walk, Bali Overview

Campuhan Ridge Walk is a scenic hiking trail in Bali known for stunning views and paved walkways. The walk takes just 30 minutes, suitable for all ages, and is best done before sunrise. At the end of the path, there are some restaurants and small stalls selling local delicacies

All along the stretch of nine kilometres you will treated to refreshing foliage on both sides. You will catch a glimpse of the pristine countryside with the lovely hills and terraces on either side. Campuhan Ridge Walk is a striking contrast to the busy life of southern Bali which is characterised by an urbanised culture. The natural environment makes for some great photos. Campuhan gives ample opportunity to those who wish find some quiet moments to introspect.

Camphuan Ridge Walk Route

The beautiful Balinese temple of Pura Gunung Lebah precedes the ridge. There are signs that lead you to find the route which lies on the eastern side of the temple. The beauty of the intricate carvings will evoke spirituality as you near Campuhan Ridge. Another hundred metres and you will be greeted with the scenic views of the hillside.

The walk passes over the valley named after the river of Sungai Woos. Here you can catch some amazing views of Mount Agung and other village settlements flanked by the vast expanses of rice fields. At this point, you have the choice of either moving forward or going back. As you walk towards the north of the ridge should you choose to move ahead, you will reach Bangkiang Sidem which is a village with lots of rice paddies. Moving along the village you will spot the beautiful river of Sungai Cerik which is a delight to see. If you wish to hike some more then you can climb the Payogan hills located in Kedewatan village.

Tips

1. You must carry along some stuff to protect yourself from sunlight like a good sunscreen, sunglasses and a hat.
2. The walk can make you thirsty, so make sure you have some water and a mosquito repellent too.
3. Since there aren’t any washrooms in this area, you must plan your trip accordingly.

How To Reach Campuhan Ridge Walk

Campuhan Ridge walk is located in Ubud, Bali. To reach this place it is suggested that you take the main road and not any lesser known route via the countryside. Most preferred start point is Ibah Ubud. You need to walk towards the west till you reach the Ubud center and then head to the pathway with steps. You will spot a sign which is located on top of bridge which you need to climb. After walking for sometime you will reach the ridge from where you can catch a glimpse of beautiful Ubud countryside.
