Danau Batur, Bali Overview

A crater lake set in Kintamani, Bali, situated approximately 30 km away, Danau Batur is a unique picturesque lake. The largest lake in Bali, it is crescent-shaped, found in the secondary caldera of the notorious active Mount Batur Volcano. Also known as Lake Batur, the 16 km wide lake lying at the base of Mount Abang is known for its chilly water and weather in the area.

Presently, there is no facility for public transportation to reach Lake Batur. Hence, the recommended mode of transportation is hiring a private vehicle, either a four-wheeler or a two-wheeler. There are numerous local rental service providers.
