Benjasiri Park is an invigorating garden that sprawls on the Sukhumvit Road in the Khlong Toei District of Bangkok. Also spelled as Benchasiri Park, it boasts a skateboard area, a swimming pool, an outdoor gym, and a jogging track. Built around a stunning ornamental lake, it boasts of 12 brilliant examples of contemporary sculptures handcrafted by some phenomenally talented Thai artists. This park is also dubbed as the “Queen’s Park,” as on 12 August 1992, the 60th birthday of the Queen Sirikit was celebrated at Benjasiri Park, and since then it is famous as the Queen’s Park.
Built on 11.6 acres of land, and located conveniently close to Emporium shopping complex, with the presence of trees in the Benchasiri Park campus and well-sheltered walkways ensures that it is crowded, even under the harsh sun. People visit here to generally take shelter from the sweltering heat outside, read a book, throw food to the pigeons, or just simply soak in the sound of the swishing wind. The Benjasiri Park has a simple and plain architecture with the entrance embellished by a huge golden image of Queen Sirikit.
