The Caricature & Cartoon Museum is Switzerland's only museum dedicated exclusively to satirical art, caricatures, and comics. Located in the heart of Basel’s Old Town near the Münsterplatz, it showcases an extensive collection of original works by renowned artists, including Tomi Ungerer and Wilhelm Busch. Visitors can explore rotating exhibitions featuring political satire, humor, and artistic storytelling.
This museum was built in 1979. Its exhibits include parodies, cartoons, a form of art called pastiche, caricatures and comics. Theme based exhibitions are also held here. The museum actually boasts of over 3,000 works of art by about 700 artists. The building has been created in true Gothic style.æ
