The Crocodile farm is located along the river bank close to the provincial town of Battambang in Cambodia. It is one of the many wildlife protection centres in the country where hundreds of crocodiles are bred in captive and conserved in the best suitable conditions. Tourists can make a short trip to the farm while visiting Battambang where they can get to know about crocodile breeding, feeding and also hold baby crocodiles.
Crocodile farming is one of the big industries in Cambodia. Crocodile's meat is used as food and in medicine. Its skin is to make expensive purses and wallets, which is quite popular across the world. In the farm, the crocodiles are killed via injections when they are fully grown to be used for all these purposes. A good breeding crocodile can yield up to 40 eggs every year.
