Museu de Artes e Oficios is an arts and crafts museum in the old railway station building which occupies a significant place in Belo Horizonte's history.
The museum is located in the spacious Praca Rui Barbosa or the Station Square which is large public square used for holding concerts and event. The museum has been implanted in 19th century neo classical building which once served as the central railways station to Belo Horizonte. The station's pivotal role in shaping BH can be attributed to its use as an arrival point for all the necessary construction material while building Minas City. With the implementation of the museum which displays tools and arts of pre industrial era Brazil, the station square has been conserved as an indispensable cultural heritage.
