Grundy Art Gallery, Blackpool Overview
Grundy Art Gallery is a one-stop destination featuring several pieces of visual arts. The collections here include artworks representing rich cultural history and contemporary popular culture. It displays a wide variety of pieces including Victorian oils and watercolours, and modern British paintings.
It also include photographs, jewellery, sculptures are so much more. It has works of prominent artists of their times, including David Roberts, Augustus Edwin John, Laura Knight, Stanhope Alexander Forbes etc. The gallery displays these during their exhibitions on a rotational basis. The exhibitions have ambitious and contextual programming, further adding to the rich cultural environment. They also have several projects and engagement activities for families, school and college students to familiarize them with art and culture. It is founded by the brothers Cuthbert and John Grundy in 1911.
