Located in the southwest of the La Gomera islands, Valle Gran Rey is a neighborhood that connects one with its beaches and mountain ridges. Antediluvian white cozy houses with terraces full of tropical crops, blue waters, black sand, and natural pools make this area unique.
It is one of the few places on this island where the population has seen a surge and has given rise to settlements that add to the culture, food, charm, and raptness of this place. Valle Gran Rey is a tourism hotbed not yet engulfed by mass tourism. This place is the most accommodating in terms of tourism infrastructure on the entire island of La Gomera and offers various leisure activities and services such as hiking and biking trips, scuba diving, and dolphin-spotting tours.
Other Important Objective Information : 1. Unlike most of the other festivities on the island, Valle Gran Rey celebrates its festivals in the winter; Ramo ( a bunch of vegetables and fruits) involves parades and paying homage to their saint.
2. Valle Gran Rey also has a national park, Garanjonay; home of The Giant Lizard which was thought to have been extinct in the area until the 1990s.
3. The seas here are calmer during the summers and the temperature stays mild throughout the year. So plan accordingly.
