Inthakhin Festival, Chiang Mai Overview
Also known as the Lak Mueang Festival, the Inthakhin Festival is a ceremony venerating the city pillar of Chiang Mai. Wat Chedi Luang becomes the centre of religious ceremonies since the city pillar, Inthakhin, is enshrined within the compound of this temple. It is a big event, complete with dances, music, carnivals, food stalls and locals parading in traditional Thai attires.
