Asokaramaya Buddhist Temple was built in the 1870s to shelter Aluthgama Sangharatne's disciples, who came to hear the monk's sermons. Resplendent with well-preserved statues of Buddha, intricate murals, and an extensive collection of antique items, it features several dagoba stupas, a preaching hall, the sacred Bo-Tree, and a bell tower.
In the center is the Dharma Salava, a relic chamber encircled by smaller halls and a grand drawing room.
