One of the most popular camping destinations near Dallas, Dinosaur Valley State Park is perfect for an adventurous as well as historical experience. There are primitive, group as well as fully-equipped campsites near the river. Depending on the type of campsite, there might be lantern posts, picnic tables, water sources, fire rings, electric hookups, showers and restrooms.
Limestone Ledge Trail, Paluxy River Trail and others are ideal for hiking, biking or walking dogs while the river offers a chance to go fishing or swimming. The highlight of this park is the set of dinosaur tracks on the Paluxy River riverbeds, which make for an interesting fossil hunting experience; there is a map to make it easier to identify their locations.
