The Albertinum is an art museum located on Brühl's Terrace in Dresden's historic center, near the Elbe River. It houses the New Masters Gallery and the Sculpture Collection, showcasing works from the Romantic period to contemporary art. The building, a former Renaissance arsenal, is notable for its striking architecture and modernized exhibition spaces after extensive renovations.
Situated on the Bruhl's Terrace, the Albertinum is a splendid display of modern art from the 19th century till now. The Galerie Neue Meister (New Masters Gallery) boasts of works by Caspar David Friedrich and Claude Monet. The Albertinum is an array of artworks, with the old and the new competing, yet supplementing each other. However, Albertinum's claim to fame is no doubt the superb sculpture collection!
