Drago do Mar Centro is a government funded cultural centre famous for its impressive architecture and exhibits.
Literally meaning the Sea Dragon, the cultural centre is named after Francisco Jos_ do Nascimento, a Cearense hero who protested against slavery. The centre located in Praia de Iracema and covering a vast area of 33,000 metre squares includes a library, cinema, planetarium and two museums exhibiting the traditional life of Cearà. The entire complex consists of restored old buildings with contemporary elements and most of them have been converted into restaurants and bars. Drago do Mar becomes a vibrant hub at night and shares its popularity amongst locals and tourists alike.
