Planning a Trip? Ask Your Question
Among the most unique parks in Geneva, Pointe de la Jonction is a junction on Saules trail that forms the meeting point of two rivers, Rhone and Arve. It's a strangely rejuvenating experience to see the green waters of river Rhone merge with the grey waters of the Arve.
This riverfront is a recreational hub which offers swimming facilities along with chair rentals and a petty bar. The junction, a raised land in between the two was initially the vegetable garden of Geneva, from there it paved the way for various industrial developments (the Kugler Tap Factory walls still stand even though they now harbour artists) and finally it is being developed still as a public park. The second-world-war era railway bridge provides a perfect background to the surreal setting and various trees such as the willows, maples and hornbeams have their roots being nurtured by these waters.
Other important objective information : 1. There are many musical activities that one can enjoy besides this gorgeous Geneva setting. Be on the lookout for a few while in the region.
2. A visit to the spot is incomplete without having a drink and a light snack at the Terrasse des Lavandieres (La Barje)
