A calm-relaxing joint on the southern shore, Quai Gustave-Ador is a gentle walkway ending up at the Baby-Plage and Genève-Plage. This quay has something to offer for all ages with a play area and benches installed by the lake. It is a great promenade for spending leisure time or to have small walk.
Built-in 1856, it was aimed at extending the lakeside promenade and has developed into a prominent attraction for residents and tourists alike. The Baby-Plage is a compact but cute, free, sand and pebbly beach for the young ones to enjoy by the quay. The Genève-Plage has on its menu over 30 land and aquatic sports and relaxing activities such as stand-up paddling, beach volley and petanque. Besides these, it has swimming lessons for kids and adults and aqua biking and aqua jumping arrangements as well.
Other important objective information : 1. Dogs are welcome provided they are kept on a leash.
2. The Jet d’eau is perhaps the largest attraction on the promenade with a height of 140 metres, till this point on the quay one can enjoy pleasure boating on the marina.
3. The quay organises numerous events each year on the Quai Gustave-Ador, one such is the Le Quai, part of a larger programme under which deckchairs are offered to visitors throughout the summer.
4. Do try out the fish and wines at the Les Terrasses de La Plage and the Flamingo Beach bar respectively.
