Long Chau Island is an archipelago of 30 odd islands situated about 50 km from the Hai Phong city centre. The island is in a remote location with rocky terrain made of limestone and reefs. You won’t find any residents, hotels, or cafes in this place. There is a 100-year-old lighthouse on the top of a cliff, and you’ll only find soldiers and guards responsible for looking after the lighthouse. Long Chau Island is undoubtedly a sight to behold with its white topography surrounded by striking blue water. However, it is just for observation and exploration purposes, so tourists need to apply for a permit before visiting.
