Recognised as a UNESCO Cultural Heritage Site, the Mausoleum of Emperor Khai Dinh was built from 1920 to 1931 for the twelfth Nguyen Emperor. Nestled on Chau Chu Mountain, the royal tomb displays flamboyant Asian and European architectural blends. The emerging structure has 127 steps and walls formed by Vietnam’s most enormous dragon sculptures. It overlooks a courtyard with statues of mandarins and soldiers.
