The Nguyen Dinh Walking Street is a pedestrian street mostly known for its numerous food stalls serving authentic Vietnamese dishes. It stretches on the south bank of the River Perfume, locally called Huong Giang, and offers stunning views of sunsets every day.
There are some excellent local eating joints here for you to explore. You should try Bun Thit Nuong - a dish of cold rice noodles with grilled pork and vegetables, Banh Khoai - a Vietnamese coconut milk cake, Banh Nam - shrimp and pork mince in rice cakes, and Bun Bo Hue - a slow-cooked beef stew with vermicelli. You must also try the various flavors of local tea - pure green tea, lotus tea, jasmine tea, and artichoke tea. There are more exotic ones with medicinal properties as well, such as Chinese kuding tea, artichoke tea, or the tea of Aglaia duperreana flowers.
There is a newly-inaugurated ironwood walkway along the shore, beautified with climber plants and flowering bushes. This promenade is ideal for walkers and joggers, but you can also stop to take a panorama shot of the river. You will get a scenic view of Hue’s Truong Tien Bridge also.
