The Desert Breath is a mesmerizing piece of land art located in the Egyptian desert near Hurghada on the Red Sea coast. Created by the D.A.ST. Arteam, consisting of three Greek artists. Comprising 89 protruding cones and 89 depressed cones arranged in spirals, the Desert Breath is monumental artwork spanning in an area of approximately 10 hectares.
The sand excavated from the depressed cones was meticulously used to construct the protruding cones, resulting in the displacement of 8,000 cubic meters of sand. At the center of this striking creation was once a body of water, measuring 30 meters in diameter, which has since evaporated over time. Despite being subject to natural erosion, the Desert Breath continues to intrigue visitors with its ephemeral beauty. From Hurghada, it takes around 1.5 hours by car.
