Located at Eleftherias Central Square, the Archaeological Museum of Kos has some of the finest archaeological findings from Kos island. The museum in itself is a beautiful building of architectural and historical significance. The rare and valuable artefacts showcasing the place's rich history from Ancient to Post-Roman times will impress every history aficionado and even the general public.
The museum is spread over two floors and has various finds from Kos's Greek and Roman history, including sculptures, mosaics, pottery, and statues from the Roman and Hellenistic eras found from the early 20th century to the present. The museum was among the last public structures built during the Italian Occupation of Greece in 1935 and is a protected monument. There are clear labels and explanations, both in English and Greek. You can also find guides around to help you with the tour.
